The APEO Project

The APEO Project was developed to help users selectively disconnect from digital screen media devices. It is our belief that this will nurture users' creativity and, hopefully, help them reconnect with the things that really matter.

We understand that people frequently have small chunks of time to fill: while riding the train to work, while waiting in line at the bank, while trapped under a pallet of paper towels in the warehouse, etc. It is our hope that during these moments, APEO users will opt to turn away from digital media distractions and instead reflect on their life choices, the news of the day, or strategies for surviving pallet mishaps.

We invite you to be part of The APEO Project. The digital revolution will be analog.

  • Big things are afoot at The APEO Project! We have this new demo of the APEO Max, we’re hard at work finding distributors for both APEO models, and we will soon have a presentation and showroom in Chicago (which is how our founder, Kelli Cousins, will successfully complete her MFA).

Please join us in Chicago if you can. The showroom is open from April 29 - May 20, 2011 in the Arcade Gallery at Columbia College Chicago (618 S. Michigan Avenue, second floor). Hope to see you there!

We’re hard at work making things—with lasers, no less. (Special thanks to Stephen DeSantis for his long-exposure wizardry.)

  • Hello! Welcome to the official site of The APEO Project. We are currently hard at work creating a legion of Analog Personal Entertainment Objects, which we will very soon introduce to the world. In the meantime, please enjoy this introductory video.
